A ringing endorsement

To the editor:

Last week, I delivered a dilapidated couch to the Marion County transfer station.

Unknown to me, within that couch was hidden my wife’s high school class ring from 1978. The ring was discovered by the employees of the transfer station.

Working through the high school alumni association in Axtell, very small community in northern Kansas, they determined who the ring belonged to, what Cathy’s married name is, and where we live.

The ring was hand-delivered to me Tuesday.

Thank you to the employees of the transfer station, especifically Josh Houseman, for customer service that is almost beyond belief.

Neal Whitaker,
Marion
