Abbie Mowat-Maust

Abbie Mowat-Maust, 93, of Sun City, Ariz., died April 14 in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Born May 28, 1916, on a farm near Wilsey, to Solomon and Mary (Hoag) Longhofer, she was a homemaker.

She married H.C. “Happy” Mowat in Abilene. He died in a train accident in 1953. She then married Harvey Glenn Maust April 19, 1960, in Ramona. He died Dec. 1, 1997.

A daughter, Sonja Mowat Gurtler who died in 1997, and two brothers, Oscar Longhofer and Jake Yakle, preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Sandy Mowat Dowling of Mesa, Ariz.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lewis Cemetery, Ramona, with the Rev. Bill Peterson officiating.

A memorial fund has been established with Friends for Life Animal Shelter, 143 W. Vaugh Avenue, Gilbert AZ 85233.
