Accidents

Motor vehicle accident reports released Friday by the Marion County sheriff’s office:

190th Road west of Holly Road

Douglas Bradford Calam, 18, of Hillsboro, was injured at 4:40 p.m. July 19 when he lost control of a 1997 Honda motorcycle in gravel on a curve.

Calam was thrown from the motorcycle, owned by Richard Calam of the same address, when he tried to brak. The motorcycle lay over and left the road.

The motorcycle had to be removed by a wrecker. The accident report does not state whether an ambulance was required for Calam’s injuries.

U.S. 56 west of K-168

Cindy K. Scott, 52, of McPherson, hit and killed a deer with her 2006 Chevy Equinox at 9 p.m. July 20.

K-256 west of U.S. 77

Fred W. Puttroff, 85, of Newton, drove his 2001 Ford Windstar off the right shoulder and hit a road sign at 11:25 p.m. July 20.

Nighthawk Road north of U.S. 50.

Darren J. Weems, 48, of Peabody, hit a raccoon with her 2002 Mercury Cougar at 12:30 a.m. and notified sheriff’s officers at 10:38 a.m. July 22. Ashley Weems, 17, of the same address, was listed as a passenger.

Sunflower Road north of 110th Road

Mikaela Denise Frederickson, 18, of Hutchinson, was taken by ambulance to St. Luke Hospital, Marion, after she hit a deer with her 1999 Chevy Blazer at 9:25 p.m. July 23. Disabled by the collision, her vehicle was towed.

Indigo Road north of 90th Road

Terri Ann Johnson, 50, of Hillsboro, hit a deer with a 2008 Ford Taurus at 5:30 a.m. Thursday. The vehicle, owned by Frank Everett Johnson of the same address, had to be towed.
