The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

K-15 near 270th Road:

David L. Ware, 67, Wichita, was southbound on K-15 near 270th Road in a 2007 Lexus utility vehicle at 2 p.m. May 12, when the driver reportedly fell asleep and entered an east ditch. The vehicle struck a driveway culvert, became airborne, flipped end over end, went through a barbed wire fence, and rolled onto the passenger side. The driver was injured and was transported by Hillsboro EMS to Hillsboro Community Hospital, reported Marion County Sheriff Deputy Duane McCarty.

Indigo Road near 220th:

Kyler L. Borg, 15, 207 S. Eisenhower, Hillsboro, was southbound on Indigo Road near 220th in a 1992 Dodge pickup at 7:50 p.m. May 12, when the driver lost control of the vehicle, entered a west ditch, and the vehicle rolled several times into a farm field. The vehicle was registered to Stanley Borg, of the same address as the driver. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Matt Vogt reported the driver was injured and was transported by Hillsboro EMS to Hillsboro Community Hospital.

Nighthawk Road near 140th:

Terri K. Thiessen, 48, Whitewater, was southbound on Nighthawk Road near 140th in a 2000 Chevrolet van at 8:40 p.m. May 12, when a deer came from an east ditch and was struck. Phyllis Epp, 75, Valley Center, was a passenger. Deputy Vogt reported the passengers were not injured and more than $1,000 in damages.

160th Road near Eagle:

Jacob A. Craney, 18, Ellis, was westbound on 160th Road near Eagle in a 2000 Ford Ranger pickup at 11:30 a.m. May 15, when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle entered a wheat field on the north side of the road and struck a tree. Brenda G. Bartel, 46, 949 U.S.-56, Hillsboro, was a passenger. The vehicle was registered to Vincent C. Craney, 2508 N. Falcon, Hillsboro. The driver had possible injuries but refused treatment at the scene. Hillsboro EMS transported Bartel to Newton Medical Center, reported Deputy McCarty.

190th Road near Old Mill:

Jon W. Thole, 69, 2005 Sunrise, Marion, was eastbound on 190th Road near Old Mill in a 2001 GMC pickup at 12:40 p.m. May 15, when a deer came from a north ditch and was struck. Suzzane Thole, no age listed on the report, of the same address as the driver, was a passenger. Deputy McCarty reported the passengers were not injured and more than $1,000 in damages.
