These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

70th and Hillside Rds.

Driving north out of Harvey County at 8 a.m. Jan. 8, Stuart M. Reimer, 40, Newton, did not see that Hillside Rd. ended at 70th Rd., drove his 2010 Toyota Tundra into a ditch, and struck a fiberoptic cable box owned by NexTech.

His truck remained drivable despite damage to the entire vehicle, according to one of five accident reports released Friday by the sheriff’s department.

Deputy Landis Goodman’s report blames the accident on inattentive driving. No tickets were listed as being issued.

US-50 east of Yarrow Rd.

Jessica L. Trapp, 34, Marion, hit a deer at 6:19 p.m. Jan. 9 with her 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe.

The sport-utility vehicle remained drivable with damage to its right front.

Jordan L. Trapp, 39, and Harlow G. Trapp, 3, were passengers in the SUV.

Sunflower Rd. south of 160th Rd.

Two northbound vehicles hit deer at 6:53 p.m. Jan. 14.

Randel J. Keith, 41, Emporia, hit a deer with a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu owned by Cash Washington Distribution of Kearney, Nebraska.

The car sustained disabling damage to its left front and was towed.

Amanda E. Schooler-Hammond, 51, Rose Hill, hit a deer with her 2022 Honda Cruze.

Her SUV remained drivable with damage to its hood and driver’s side.

Timber Rd. north of 30th Rd.

Paul D. Fasnacht, 23, rural Burns, hit a deer at 7:05 p.m. Thursday with a 2017 Nissan Altima owned by Avery C. Smith of Marion.

The car remained drivable with damage to its left front.

HILLSBORO

Hillsboro Community Hospital parking lot

A trailer attached to a 2018 Dodge Ram 4D being driven by Matthew W. Bishop, 36, McPherson, clipped a legally parked vehicle at 5:55 p.m. Saturday.

The unoccupied vehicle, a 2017 Infinity QX6 owned by Christoper D. Merrick of Hillsboro, sustained damage to its right rear and rear bumper.

The pickup was not damaged. No tickets were listed as being issued.
