U.S. 50 west of Wagonwheel Road

Ronald Savage, 46, 2207 100th St., Florence, was driving westbound on U.S. 50 when a deer ran into the driver’s side of his 1998 Chevrolet pickup about 9:25 p.m. June 1. Becky Savage, 50, of the same address, was a passenger.

U.S. 56 west of Nighthawk Road

Shelley Ray, 44, 121 S. Freeborn St., Marion, was driving westbound on U.S. 56 when she struck a deer about 5:30 a.m. June 2. She was driving her 2006 Ford sedan.

Indigo Road north of 160th Road

Matthew Martin, 19, 1196 150th St., Hillsboro, was driving southbound on Indigo Road when he struck a cow belonging to Lloyd Funk, 1648 Indigo Road, Hillsboro, at 9:40 p.m. June 1. He was driving his 2006 Chevrolet sedan. Heather Mayfield, 17, 400 W. Arbor Court, Hillsboro, was a passenger.

Ash Street south of U.S. 56

Janis Wright, 61, 2125 N. Kruse St., Marion, was driving northbound on N. Ash Street in Hillsboro when she struck Cheryll Jost’s vehicle from the rear while Jost, 57, 2168 N. K-15, Hillsboro, was stopped at a stop sign at 3:58 p.m. June 1. Wright said she was not paying attention. Jost didn’t see the other vehicle coming until the impact. Wright was driving her 2004 Chevrolet pickup, and Jost was driving her 2010 Volkswagen sedan. Meghan Jost, 22, of the same address, was a passenger in Cheryll Jost’s car. No injuries were reported in the accident.

Quail Creek Road north of 320th Road

Tara Luna, 31, 2209 Kanza Road, Hillsboro, was driving southbound on Quail Creek Road when she struck a deer at 6:30 a.m. June 4. She was driving her 2001 Volkswagen sedan.

Ash Street north of A Street

John Hurst, 80, 12 Park Ave., Hillsboro, was driving on Ash Street in Hillsboro when he drifted off the street and over a curb and struck two mailboxes before steering back onto the street at 9:38 a.m. June 6. Hurst said he wasn’t getting enough oxygen from his personal oxygen machine and wasn’t paying attention to his driving while he manipulated the air tubes around himself. He was driving his 2005 Ford sedan. He was checked by EMS at the scene, but he refused service. Family members told the investigating Hillsboro Police officer that Hurst wouldn’t be driving again. One mailbox was destroyed, and another suffered minor damage.
