Intersection of Lincoln and B Sts.

Phillip Wahl, 23, 400 S. Jefferson St., Hillsboro, struck a mailbox and a tree while turning north onto Lincoln St. from B St. at 3 a.m. Nov. 6 while driving a 1996 Toyota Camry owned by Tamara Diane Lawson, 2412 Centennial Blvd., Hays. The vehicle is typically driven by Wahl’s Tabor soccer teammate Nathan Lawson. Wahl said he mistook the accelerator pedal for the brake pedal. No injuries were reported. However, the vehicle had to be towed and Wahl was cited for driving without a license.

Intersection of Lincoln and Third Sts.

Alyssa Marie Bettles, 20, 300 S. Adams St., Hillsboro, struck a sign and then a tree at 8:45 p.m. Friday before coming to a stop on the south side of the intersection of Lincoln and Third Sts. after she reported the steering wheel and accelerator of her 2000 Toyota Camry locked up. No injuries were reported but the vehicle had to be towed.

U.S. 50 east of Vista Rd.

Erik William Holsing, 38, 518 W. Kansas St., White City, heard a pop, then saw smoke coming from the rear of his 1999 Pontiac sedan and found the engine compartment was on fire at 11:38 a.m. Nov. 6. The car had to be towed.

K-15 south of U.S. 56

Pamela Gail Urioste, 60, 427 N. Saint James, Wichita, drove off the road and slid through a ditch in her 2009 Cadillac sedan at 7:51 p.m. Nov. 6. She was taken by Life Team to Via Christi-St. Francis in Wichita. Her car had to be towed.

Deer strikes

Marie Keal Amshoff, 59, 88 Dalworth 16, Mesquite, Texas, struck and killed a deer with a 2003 Ford pickup registered to Michael A. Keal, 105 Oaklin, Ladonia, Texas, at 8:50 p.m. Nov. 4 on U.S. 56/77 north of 240th Rd.

Brooke Elizabeth Eitzen, 21, 5 Bentgrass Dr., Hesston, struck a deer with her 2004 Honda coupe at 6:45 p.m. Nov. 6 on K-15 north of 140th Rd.
