Accidents reported through 5 p.m. Friday:
120th Rd. west of Eagle Rd.
Curtis Girk, 31, Peabody, and passenger Angela Soukup, 42, Marion, were seriously injured when one of two westbound 17-year-olds who, deputies said, had been racing side-by-side on a hill at 10:25 p.m. June 11 sideswiped Girk’s eastbound 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle.
Cody Wedel of Goessel, owner and driver of the 2007 Mazda sedan that struck the motorcycle, was charged with reckless driving, speeding, improper passing, and failure to wear a seatbelt.
Casey Johnson of Galva, driver of a 2011 Ford pickup that police said Wedel had been attempting to pass as part of a race, was charged with reckless driving and speeding.
Deanna Johnson, 17, Galva, was in Wedel’s car, and Roy Koehn, 21, Montezuma, was in Johnson’s truck at the time.
Firefighters and first responders from Goessel, ambulances from Hillsboro and Peabody, and a helicopter ambulance all responded, transporting one patient to Newton Medical Center and another by air to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

A 2009 Dodge van owned by Natural Resources Conservation Service and driven by Tracy Karcher, 41, Emporia, struck and killed at deer at 4 p.m. June 13.
U.S. 56 south of 230th Rd.
A 2002 Ford pickup owned and driven by Kenneth Holub, 63, Tampa, struck a deer at 8 p.m. June 13.
U.S. 56 south of 320th Rd.
Hai Nguyen, 21, Junction City, lost control of his 2006 Yamaha motorcycle at 9:12 p.m. June 13 and ended up in the opposite ditch. Deputies indicated the driver complained of possible injuries. Radio records indicate first responders and an ambulance were dispatched but did not transport him.
K-150 east of Yarrow Rd.
A 2004 Ford pickup owned and driven by John Shriver, 48, McPherson, struck a deer at 5:33 a.m. June 14. Betty Slief, 50, and Max Rickard, 13, both of the same Pratt address, were passengers. The pickup had to be towed.
500 block of S. Roosevelt St., Marion, and K-15 south of 370th Rd.
A hit-and-run driver allegedly backed into the left rear of a 2006 Chevy sedan owned by Jo Jackson of Abilene while it was parked in Marion on or after 10 a.m. June 4.
Jackson also reported at 7:45 a.m. June 14 that she had struck a deer with the same vehicle at 5:40 a.m. that day on K-15.

A 2005 Ford truck owned by Lang Diesel, Hays, and driven by Christopher Albright, 30, Andover, struck a deer at 9:55 p.m. June 16.
