According to accident reports released Monday:

SHERIFF

US-50 west of Mustang Rd.

Tara Basgall, 42, of Wichita struck a deer with her 2013 Chevy Malibu at 6:45 a.m. July 16.

The Malibu had to be towed. The deer staggered off, investigator Wilma Mueller reported.

K-15 south of 290th Rd.

Hubert Piland III, 51, of Lehigh hit a deer at 1:45 a.m. July 30 while driving a 2009 Ford Econoline owned by Red Crew Express of Lincoln, Nebraska,. Milt Anderson, 58, of Newton and Kenneth Phipps, 35, of Elbing were listed as passengers at the time.

US-77 north of 20th Rd.

Heidi Stringer, 37, of Marion hit a deer with her 2005 Nissan Armada at 6:44 a.m. July 30. Her car had to be towed.

US-50 west of Sunflower Rd.

Tina Blansett, 51, of Spotsylvania, Virginia, ran over a large tire in the roadway at 2:50 p.m. July 31. The 2014 Hyundai Elantra she was driving was owned by Ean Holdings LLC of Shreveport, Louisiana. She was able to drive it away.

Indigo Rd. north of 160th Rd.

Pamela Buller, 60, of Hillsboro hit a tire that fell off a trailer traveling in front of her 2002 Lincoln LS at 6:45 p.m. Aug. 4.

Deputy Travis Wilson reported that the tire had fallen off a trailer being pulled by a 1998 International owned by JL Unruh LLC of Newton and driven by Gary Davis, 23, of Hillsboro.

K-150 west of Alfalfa Rd.

Possibly distracted by talking on her mobile phone, Rebecca Rouch, 30, of Emporia flipped her 2001 Ford Taurus after she drove it onto a shoulder and overcorrected at 9:10 a.m. Aug. 6, deputy Derek Fetrow reported.

Fetrow’s report indicated Rouch was transported St. Luke Hospital by Marion ambulance. Her car had to be towed.

HILLSBORO

D St. east of Cedar St.

While attempting to turn right, Susan Funk, 69, of Hillsboro turned her 2006 Pontiac Torrent into a 1966 Ford Mustang that may have been in her blind spot, traveling alongside her, at 10:15 p.m. July 24, Hillsboro police officer Steven Janzen reported.

The Mustang, owned by Roselia Suderman of Hillsboro, was being driven by Jesse Meier, 17, of a different Hillsboro address. Both vehicles could be driven away, and no injuries were reported.

Parking lot in 700 block of S. Main St.

A Hillsboro garbage truck clipped and dragged a legally parked 2003 Chevy Silverado after emptying a trash container at 12:35 p.m. July 31 in the Hillsboro Community Hospital parking lot, officer Brad Richards reported.

The garbage truck driver was identified as Edward Richert, 61, of Hillsboro. The Silverado was owned by Michael Reeh of Risley Township.

Although the Silverado was dragged nearly eight feet, Richards reported only minor damage to its bumper.

1st and Main Sts.

Believing she had pulled too far into an intersection at a stop sign, Velda Hiebert, 89, of Hillsboro backed her 2007 Mercury Milan into a 2006 Chevy Colorado that had stopped behind her at the stop sign at 11:50 a.m. Aug. 2.

The stopped truck was being driven by its owner, Connie Weber, 48, also of Hillsboro. Assistant Chief Jessey Hiebert reported minor damages and no injuries.
