According to accident reports released Friday:

SHERIFF

U.S.-56 and K-15 intersection

Robert Stevens, 50, Wichita, was driving a 2007 Freightliner truck eastbound on U.S.-56 attempting to make a left turn on to K-15 when a 2006 Freightliner truck that tried to pass him in snowy conditions at 11:25 p.m. on Dec. 17 sideswiped him. Sheriff’s officer Michael Ottensmeier reported the driver of the second truck, Boota Dhami, 40, Twinsburg, Ohio, failed to slow and passed in a no passing zone.

Indigo Rd. south of 150th Rd.

Anthony Monson, 32, Hillsboro, hit a deer with his 2003 Dodge Caravan at 7:09 p.m. Dec. 9.

He was able to drive from the scene.

K-15 south of 150th Rd.

Kermit Nikkel, 72, Canton, hit a deer with his 2013 Ford F-250 pickup at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 9.

He was able to drive from the scene.

K-150 east of Alfalfa Rd.

Dorothy Otte, 74, Galva, was driving west on K-150 in a 2011 Lincoln MKX when the car crossed left of center and hit the driver’s side of a 2002 Toyota Camry driven by Nicholas Olson, 28, Iola, sending both cars into the south ditch at 4 p.m. Dec. 13. Sheriff’s officer Travis Wilson reported Marion and Hillsboro ambulances transported both drivers to St. Luke Hospital. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

170th Rd. west of K-15

Juan Castro-Roman, 26, Hillsboro, was attempting a left turn from 170th Rd. onto K-15 at 7:45 a.m. Dec. 18 when snowy conditions caused his 2013 Chevrolet Equinox to slide backward, hitting a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Dakota Nolte, 16, Canton. They were able to drive away from the scene.
