According to accident reports released Monday:

SHERIFF

Nighthawk Rd. south of 50th Rd.

Zachary Baatrup, 15, Peabody, lost control of a 1996 Pontiac Bonneville and drove into a ditch as he tried to navigate a curve on Nighthawk Rd. at 50th Rd. at 3:50 p.m. Jan. 14. Sheriff’s deputy Mike Ottensmeier reported Baatrup was allegedly speeding, and cited him for allegedly violating juvenile driver’s license restrictions.

US-77 south of Broadway St.

A 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Steve Leavitt, 27, Augusta, veered into the west ditch of US-77 south of the intersection with Broadway St. at Burns, striking two signs at 6:15 p.m. Jan. 12. Sheriff’s officer Larry Starkey reported Leavitt stated he fell asleep. The truck was towed from the scene.

Indigo Rd. north of 70th Rd.

Michael Kelly, 49, Haysville, was driving south on Indigo Rd. at 9:52 a.m. Jan. 11 when his 2001 Toyota Tacoma slid on a patch of ice. Sheriff’s officer Wilma Mueller reported Kelly attempted to ride out the skid along the ditch because of an oncoming vehicle, but lost control. The vehicle rolled and landed upright in a field on the east side of the road. A passenger, Christopher Kelly, 21, Haysville, was transported by Peabody ambulance to Via Christi-St. Francis with possible injuries. Michael Kelly and a second passenger were not injured. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Falcon Rd. at 340th Rd.

Pamela Wedel, 56, Castle Rock, Colorado, was driving south on Falcon Rd. at 10:15 a.m. Jan. 15 when her 2007 Toyota Prius entered the intersection with 340th Rd. and struck a 1998 Dodge Ram V1500 driven by Julie Jantz, 57, Tampa. Wedel suffered an injury that was not incapacitating. Undersheriff David Huntley charged Wedel with failure to yield the right of way.

hillsboro

Joyce Kyle, 68, Hillsboro, was driving east on Grand St. at 3:50 p.m. Jan. 14 when her 2009 Toyota Corolla collided with a 2007 Dodge Caravan turning left onto Grand from the alley next to Hillsboro High School. Hillsboro police officer David Funk cited the driver of the Caravan, Peter Claassen, 16, Towanda, for failure to yield the right of way. The cars were driven from the scene.
