According to law enforcement reports released this weekend:

SHERIFF

190th Rd. west of Pawnee Rd.

Robin Blazek, 45, Marion, lost control of her 1999 Dodge Intrepid at 5:36 p.m. July 6.

The car left the road, struck an embankment, and came back onto the road, according to deputy Bronson Shipman.

He issued citations accusing Blazek of driving without a license and not using a seat belt. Although Shipman’s report states that she might have been injured, there is no record of her being transported to a hospital.

Sumac Rd. north of 180th Rd.

Five Marion teens, ages 13 to 16, were taken to St. Luke Hospital to be checked for injuries after a 1995 GMC Yukon in which they were riding skidded into a soybean field and rolled onto its side at 4:46 p.m. July 8.

Deputy Travis Wilson said driver Sarah Hendrix, 16, had been driving too fast for conditions when she lost control of the sport utility vehicle, owned by Robert Hendrix of the same Marion address. The SUV had to be towed.

Sarah and all four of her passengers — Amethyst Larson, 14; Alfwenna Meyer, 13; and Madeline Larson, 14, all three of one address, and Nathan Young, 16, of a different address — had been using shoulder and lap belts. They were transported to St. Luke by Marion County ambulance.

No citations were noted. Soybeans being grown by Mick Summervill of rural Marion were reported damaged.

190th Rd. east of Old Mill Rd.

Cody Hiebert, 24, Marion, was transported to St. Luke Hospital to be checked for injuries after he rolled his 2000 Lincoln Town Car at 5:44 p.m. July 8.

Deputy Travis Wilson reported that Hiebert had been driving too fast for conditions, swerved after crossing 190th’s centerline, and ended up in a ditch, with his Lincoln resting on its side.

Hiebert, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by Marion County ambulance. Seven-year-old passenger Gavin Druse of a different Marion address had been restrained in a booster seat and escaped injury, according to Wilson’s report.

No citations were noted. Hiebert’s car was towed. A fence owned by Francis Turner of rural Marion was damaged.

US-56 west of US-77

A 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass from Iowa hit the right rear of a 2015 Dodge Journey from Texas after the driver of the Dodge missed an intersection and slowed to turn right into a field at 10:20 a.m. July 11.

Undersheriff David Huntley reported that the Olds’s driver, Ethen Webb, 19, of Anita, Iowa, had been inattentive and following too closely. Neither he nor the Dodge’s driver, Makayla Aldrich, 18, Dallas, were reported injured. Both were wearing shoulder and lap belts.

Neither vehicle had to be towed. No citations were noted.

270th Rd. west of Yarrow Rd.

A 1975 GMC 6000 farm truck owned and driven by Leonard Bina, 71, rural Lincolnville, caught fire at 2:38 p.m. July 12.

Although Undersheriff David Huntley’s report said the truck’s cab was destroyed, Bina was able to remove the vehicle without a tow truck.

140th Rd. west of Pawnee Rd.

Stephen Glahn, 53, rural Marion, reported that the undercarriage of his 2009 Chevrolet Traverse was damaged at 11:30 a.m. July 13 by a large rock or other object left in a road grader’s windrow in the center of 140th Rd.

Glahn was able to remove his sport utility vehicle and reported the accident 4½ hours later.

40th Rd. west of Upland Rd.

Scott Dodson, 35, El Dorado, hit a deer with his 2006 BMW 330 at 9:45 p.m. July 12. Neither he nor passenger Paige Dodson, 34, of the same address was reported injured, and the car was driven from the scene.

Hillsboro

200 block of E. A St.

A semi driven by Michael Bridges, 47, Eufaula, Oklahoma, sideswiped a parked a 2014 Buick LaCrosse owned by Lyman Adams, Hillsboro, at 10 a.m. July 11. Bridges had been attempting to maneuver the semi into an alley. The semi is owned by R&L Transfer, Inc. of Alexandria, Indiana.

100 block of W. F St.

Candy Tucker, Hillsboro, reported that her parked 2003 Pontiac Grand Am was struck by a hit-and-run driver at 1:20 p.m. July 5 in front of Salem Homes. Her Grand Am had scuffs of silver paint on the rear driver’s side panel minimal.

500 block of S. Ash St.

Louise Rahe, 80, Hillsboro, accelerated over a parking lot curb in a 1998 Ford Ranger and caused damage to a privacy fence in Greenhaw Pharmacy’s parking lot at 4:20 p.m. July 8.
