REPORTED

Accident reports released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

US-77 south of 140th Rd.

Nicholas Lopez, 27, Florence, deliberately drove his 2003 Ford Taurus into a bridge at 7:21 p.m. May 29, according to deputy Wilma Mueller’s report.

The car spun three times and ended up in grass, sustaining damage to almost the entire vehicle, which had to be towed.

Her report does not mention it, but dispatches at the time indicate that a vehicle thought to have been intentionally driven in the Cottonwood River bridge near Florence by a distraught driver was unoccupied when Florence ambulance arrived.

Mueller, who listed the accident as involving possible injuries but no transport by ambulance, ticketed Lopez for three alleged offenses: reckless driving, driving too fast for conditions, and leaving the scene of an accident.

US-56 and Nighthawk Rd.

Derrick Ratzloff, 21, Marion, was ticketed for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident after he overcorrected to miss a deer and drove a 2010 Chevy Cobalt owned by Trevor Kruse of Marion into a ditch at 5 a.m. July 8.

The accident, also investigated by Mueller, was reported at 6:28 a.m.
