REPORTED

These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

Vista Rd. south of 360 Rd.

A 1994 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Ashley N. Campbell, 31, Herington, veered into the left ditch at 2:40 p.m. March 16. Campbell attempted to drive out of the ditch but caught the grass on fire which caught the Cavalier on fire. Campbell was cited for driving under the influence and driving on the left side of the roadway. The Cavalier was towed.

US-50 east of Quail Creek Rd.

A 1999 GMC Sierra driven by Grace C. Schneider, 31, Goddard, veered into the right ditch and overturned at 4:38 p.m. March 17. Schneider told deputies she was distracted by a dog in the vehicle.

US-77 south of 340th Rd.

A 2011 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Mitchell M. Cain, 54, Junction City, rear-ended a 2002 Honda Accord driven by Erica Beebe, 54, Junction City, that was stopped at a red light in a construction zone on US-77 at 3:52 p.m. March 17. The Accord was pushed forward into the rear of a 2016 Honda Civic driven by Saige M. Masonhall, 20, Andover, also stopped in the construction zone. The Civic was pushed forward into the rear of a 2004 Dodge Durango driven by Kristina E. Zerger, 20, Andover, also stopped in the construction zone. Beebe reported injury but declined to be taken to a hospital. The Silverado, Accord, and Civic were towed.

US-50 west of Yarrow Rd.

Gerald L. Vonrunder, 49, Owatonna, Michigan, hit a deer with a 2019 Winnebago owned by Winnebago, Forest City, Iowa, at 9 p.m. March 19. The Winnebago was towed.

US-50 at Yarrow Rd.

Lloyd A. Funk, 83, Hillsboro, was driving a 1967 Chevrolet C50 eastbound on US-50 when he pulled into the right turn lane,then turned left. The Chevrolet hit a trailer pulled by a 2011 GMS Sierra driven by Daniel S. Hong, 49, Carlingford, Ireland. Funk told deputies he thought he was in the correct turn lane.

300 block of N. Ash St.

Valerie Stout was backing out of a parking space in her 2015 Nissan Murano at 4:15 March 19 when she crashed into the driver’s side rear quarter panel of Josh Hiebert’s 2017 Nissan Altima.

Hiebert was exiting the parking lot at Casey’s General Store headed south when his car was hit.
