These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

US-77 at 80th Rd.

Connie S. Freeborn, 67, rural Florence, was injured at 1:57 p.m. July 17 when a semi-trailer truck, attempting to pass while she was turning left, broadsided her 2007 Dodge Dakota.

Freeborn was taken to St. Luke Hospital, Marion. Her pickup sustained damage all along its driver’s side.

Deputy Kaylan Miles said in his report that semi driver Maurtrise L. Wichliffe, 29, of Las Vegas had been distracted and attempted to pass improperly. However, no tickets were issued.

The semi, a 2019 Freightliner, was owned by Wichliffe’s employer, Werner Enterprises Inc. of Omaha.

Diamond Rd. south of Prospect St. in Lehigh

A hit-and-run motorist reportedly struck the driver’s side mirror of a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville at 3:52 p.m. Thursday and continued on to the north.

Abigail M. Hannon, 19, Lehigh, was driving the car, owned by Jennifer J. Hagewood of the same address. She could not identify the type of vehicle that struck the car.
