These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

Old Mill Rd. south of 40th Rd.

Devon S. Gaines, 19, Newton, hit a cow with his 2020 Dodge R35 at 10:28 p.m. Aug. 24.

Chisholm Trail Rd. north of 110th Rd.

Brendon G. Hicks, 17, Newton, lost control of his 2008 Pontiac Grand Am, entered the ditch and hit several trees on the east side of the road at 6:43 p.m. Aug. 26. Hicks reported he lost control of the car when he swerved out of the way of a car driving up fast behind him.

Sunflower Rd. south of 160th Rd.

Kate Schroeder, 24, Wichita, hit a deer with her with her 2005 Chevrolet Malibu at 11:40 a.m. Aug. 24. Neither Schroeder nor her passengers, Chase T. Myers, 24, Wichita, or Dustin Schroeder, 3, Wichita, reported injury.

K-150 west of Wagonwheel Rd.

Pat L. Carr, 61, Marion, hit a horse when it entered the road and was struck by the passenger side windshield and pillar of his 2014 Jeep Cherokee at 9:04 p.m. Aug. 26. Neither Carr nor his passenger, Ann C. Carr, 57, Marion, reported injury.

Hillsboro

N. Ash St. and US-56

Pheobe A. Janzen, 67, Hillsboro, was stopped at an intersection on N. Ash St. at 2:08 p.m. Aug. 26 in her 2009 Chevrolet Silverado when she backed up to avoid being struck by a 1992 Peterbilt tractor-trailer driven by Stanley D. Steiner, 72, Galva, which was turning onto N. Ash St. from US-56. When the Silverado backed up it hit the front of a 2013 Ford Focus driven by Sheila A. Friesen, 50, Lehigh. Steiner, driving a tractor-trailer owned by Banana Trucking, Galva, cut the turn early, according to all three drivers.
