These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

HILLSBORO

D and Jefferson Sts.

A 2005 Buick Century owned and driven by Jessica C. Dykens, 33, Hillsboro, rear-ended a 2019 Ford Explorer that had stopped with its turn signal on at 8 a.m. Friday while waiting to turn left from D St. onto Jefferson St.

Dykens reportedly told police she had not been paying attention and did not see that the Ford had stopped. She was cited for inattentive driving.

The Ford, owned by Mennonite Brethren Foundation, was driven by Jon C. Wiebe, 57, Hillsboro. Autumn Dykens, 11, was a passenger in the Buick.

US-56 west of Remington Rd.

Timothy W. Lee, 61, Kingsville, Missouri, hit a deer at 5:35 p.m. Nov. 24 with his 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, which had to be towed. Jessie L. Lee, 61, and Kaitlyn R. Bosley, 16, both of the same Missouri address were passengers.

US-50 at Pawnee Rd.

A westbound driver trying to pass a semi while another driver was attempting to turn east onto the same lane of the highway resulted in a head-on collision at 4:35 p.m. Nov. 25.

Daniel Edson, 50, Wichita, suffered minor injuries but declined to be taken to a hospital after his westbound 2006 Chevrolet Aveo collided with a turning 2013 Nissan Altima owned and driven by Nicholas M. Anaya, 21, Andover. Both vehicles were towed.

A report by deputy Kaylen Miles blamed the accident on inattentive driving by both drivers and failure to yield by Anaya, but no tickets were issued.

US-56 west of Bison Rd.

Kolby Bunch-Dennis, 22, Dallas, hit a deer at 5:48 p.m. Nov. 26 with his 2004 Ford Mustang, which had to be towed. Demarcus Fisher, 22, of a different Dallas address was a passenger.

Nighthawk Rd. south of 290th Rd.

Cheryl L. Gray, 53, White City, was taken by Tampa ambulance to St. Luke Hospital after she drove her 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee into a ditch, where it overturned at 10 a.m. Nov. 27.

Deputy Aaron Christner’s report states that Gray was driving too fast for conditions on the gravel road, but no tickets were issued.

She reportedly had to be extricated by Hillsboro rescue squad members but, according to dispatch logs, suffered only an injured shoulder and a scraped wrist.

US-56/77 north of 340th Rd.

Fire that broke out at 6:34 p.m. Nov. 27 in a camper being pulled by a 2014 Ford F-150 destroyed both the trailer and the truck, owned and driven by Ryan M. Reynolds, 32, Augusta.

Deputy Matthew Regier’s report did not specify a cause of the fire but did state that Reynolds had been driving with a suspended license even though no tickets were listed as being issued.

US-56/77 north of 250th Rd.

Two northbound drivers hit the same deer at 6:35 p.m. Nov. 28.

Larry G. Swayze, 65, Lincolnville, hit it first with his 2010 Ford F150. Christina J. Stratman, 27, Manhattan, then hit it with her 2009 Toyota Matrix.

The Ford had to be towed, but the Toyota, in which Eric S. Hamm, 27, Valley Center, was a passenger, was driven away.

K-150 east of Bluestem Rd.

Steven D. Glover, 53, Peabody, veered off the highway to the right at 4:45 p.m. Dec. 1 after a right front tire came off his 2008 Chrysler Town and Country.

The car reportedly sustained damage only to its front axle but still had to be towed.

150th Rd. east of Eagle Rd.

Carol M. Duerksen, 67, rural Hillsboro, hit a deer at 6 p.m. Dec. 1 with her 2011 Ford Fiesta.
