Passenger Tyler Self, 19, of Marion was injured at 5:40 p.m. May 27 when a 2015 Toyota Prius driven by Keegan August, 17, Lincolnville, hit a cow owned by James Riffle of rural Lincolnville and left the roadway, sustaining extensive damage.

Self was taken by Tampa ambulance to St. Luke Hospital, Marion, with what were described as minor injuries. The Toyota, owned by David August of Lincolnville, was towed.

Passenger Carol S. Makovec, 77, Herington, was injured but not taken to a hospital by ambulance when a 2017 Buick Encore owned and driven by Robert F. Makovec, 79, of the same address hit a deer at 7:50 a.m. May 29.

The Buick sustained extensive damage to its front and undercarriage and was towed. The driver also was listed as having suffered possible injuries.
