ACCIDENTS
REPORTED
These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:
SHERIFF
120th Rd. east of Eagle Rd.
David L. Johnson, 18, Goessel, fell asleep at 5:05 a.m. Aug. 9 and drove his 2013 Ford F-150 into a ditch, striking a fence post owned by Jared W. Regehr of Hillsboro.
Both Johnson and his 15-year-old passenger, Nicholas M. Johnson of the same address, reported injuries, but neither was listed as being taken to a hospital by ambulance.
The pickup sustained disabling damage and was towed.
Remington Rd. north of 240th Rd.
Grant D. Evans, 19, rural Marion, hit a 550- to 600-pound bull calf at 9:25 a.m. Aug. 9 with a 2004 Dodge Ram 3500.
The pickup, owned by Gary Evans of the same address, sustained front-end and hood damage but remained functional.
The calf was owned by Darvin L. Markley, Marion.
HILLSBORO
A St. east of Main St.
Kenneth D. Kliewer, 60, Hillsboro, backed a 2020 Ford Transit van out of a diagonal parking space into a 2016 Ford F-150 pickup parked legally in a parallel parking space across the street at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
The van, owned by Merle D. Flaming, sustained minor damage to its left rear. The pickup, owned by Jost Funeral Home, sustained minor damage to its driver’s side.
No citations were issued.
