These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

US-50 east of Old Mill Rd.

Two people were injured but declined to be taken to a hospital after a blowout at 12:41 p.m. Nov. 20 caused a 2001 Ford F-250 pulling a camper to veer across US-50 and overturn in the opposite ditch.

Deputy Landis Goodman’s report states that driver and owner Marisa E. Giffin, 37, Wichita, overcorrected. She and passenger Adelaide M.B. Seiwert, 40, Kingman, were listed as injured, but both declined to be transported by any of multiple ambulances dispatched to the accident.

The Ford sustained extensive damage and was listed as destroyed.

US-56/77 north of 310th Rd.

Eddie R. Turner, 52, Junction City, hit a deer at 7:29 p.m. Nov. 22 with his 2019 Dodge Ram 150, which sustained front-end damage characterized as minor. Shannon E. Harris, 44, of the same address was a passenger.

K-15 south of 220th Rd.

Andrew B. Chestnut, 37, Hutchinson, hit a deer at 7:56 p.m. Nov. 23 with his 2011 Ford Edge, which sustained disabling damage to its front, hood, and driver’s side and was towed.

US-50 east of Yarrow Rd.

Susan M. Redican, 30, Lawrence, hit a deer at 5:35 p.m. Nov. 24 with her 2011 Hyundai Elantra, which sustained damage to its front, left, hood, and undercarriage but remained drivable.

US-56 east of Limestone Rd.

Caden L. Bernhardt, 25, Marion, hit a deer at 7:05 p.m. Nov. 24 with a 2005 Dodge Ram 150 owned by Samuel L. Bernhardt of the same address. The pickup remained drivable despite damage to its front, hood, left, and undercarriage.

K-15 north of 270th Rd.

Luke A. Buller, 18, rural Galva, hit a deer at 8:32 p.m. Nov. 24 with a 2003 Toyota Four Runner owned by Lyle D. Buller of the same address. The sport-utility vehicle sustained front-end and undercarriage damage deemed disabling but was removed by the owner.

US-56 north of 270th Rd.

Greggory D. Coleman, 65, El Dorado, hit a deer at 8:42 p.m. Nov. 24 with his 2021 Jeep Wrangler, which remained drivable despite damage to its front and hood. Lori A. Coleman, 58, of the same address was a passenger.

K-15 north of 110th Rd.

Swerving to avoid a deer at 5:40 p.m. Nov. 27, Dwight L. Boyce, 53, Kechi, drove his 2002 Ford F-350 into a ditch, where it overturned.

The truck sustained damage to both sides, its windshield, and top and was towed. Muriel D. Boyce, 57, of the same address was a passenger.

Kanza Rd. north of 160th Rd.

Shelley A. Rooker, 59, rural Hillsboro, was injured at 11:20 a.m. Nov. 28 but declined to be taken to a hospital after she felt her 2013 Buick LaCrosse drop off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and ended up driving it off the left side.

Infant Ellee Bebermeyer and 3-year-old Bennett Bebermeyer of the same address were passengers but were not reported as being injured.

The Buick sustained front-end and undercarriage damage but remained drivable.

US-50 east of Timber Rd.

Something resembling a metal rod that may have fallen from the back of a semi-trailer at 3:15 p.m. Nov. 29 caused damage characterized as minor to a 2011 Toyota Camry traveling behind the semi.

Noah A. Solley, 20, Mount Hope, told deputy Kaylan Miles he hadn’t seen anything fall from his 1998 Peterbilt, owned by Brack Harvesting of Hutchinson, and that nothing was missing from his load.

However, the Camry, owned and driven by Aaleigha J. Barnett, 21, Arlington, Texas, sustained damage to its right front and hood. William R. Barnett, 47, of a different Arlington address was a passenger at the time.

No citations were issued.

9th St. east of Maple St., Peabody

Carl E. Spencer, 54, Peabody, was injured when he lost control of his 2008 Zhejiang Shenke motor scooter on a patch of dirt while exiting a Family Dollar / Dollar Tree parking lot at 2 p.m. Nov. 30.

Spencer, who laid the scooter over at a slow speed, sustained ankle and knee injuries and was taken to NMC Health, Newton, by Hillsboro ambulance. No damage to the scooter was reported.
