These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

sheriff

US-50 east of Timber Rd.

Vickie C. Schroeder, 59, Marion County Lake, hit a deer at 7:27 p.m. Feb. 10 with her 2021 Nissan Kick, which remained drivable despite damage to its front, hood, and undercarriage. Vincent L. Schroeder, 71, of the same address was a passenger.

190th Rd. west of Quail Creek Rd.

Sheriff Jeff Soyez’s wife, Amy N. Soyez, 44, rural Marion, hit a deer at 7:30 a.m. Feb. 11 with an apparently leased 2022 Volvo XC90, which sustained damage characterized as minor to its left rear.

120th Rd. west of Holly Rd.

Erin A. Barocio, 34, North Newton, hit a deer at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 13 with her 2013 Hyundai Sonata, which sustained disabling damage to its front, right, and hood and was towed. Infant Daphne Barocio of the same address was a passenger.

190th Rd. east of Quail Creek Rd.

August T. Homburg, 25, rural Marion, hit a deer at 11 p.m. Feb. 14 with a 2015 Dodge Dart. The car sustained front-end damage but remained driveable.

HILLSBORO

Willow Glen Ln. west of Ash St.

Gary L. Beavers, 70, Hillsboro, backed his 2018 Ford F-150 out of his driveway at 4 p.m. Feb. 14 and into a 1998 Ford Expedition improperly stopped facing the wrong direction across the street.

Owner Andrew L. Lindsay of Hillsboro said he had stopped his sport utility vehicle in front of mailboxes and left the vehicle to check his mail.

Beavers’s pickup sustained what was characterized as minor damage to its right rear. Lindsay’s SUV sustained what was characterized as more extensive damage to its passenger side door but remained drivable.

Assistant chief Randall Brazil’s report blamed the accident on inattentive driving by Beavers, but no tickets were issued.
