These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

K-15 south of 160th Rd.

Gary L. Slater, 61, Hillsboro, hit a deer at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 24 with a 2020 Peterbilt semi owned by Barkman Honey of Hillsboro. The semi remained drivable despite damage to its driver’s side.

US-56 east of Timber Rd.

Laura M. Pape, 54, Cottonwood Falls, hit a deer at 7:18 p.m. Feb. 28 with her 2021 Nissan Kick, which was towed after its airbags were deployed and its front and hood were damaged.

190th Rd. west of Pawnee Rd.

Sondra R. Wilson-Bezdek, 42, Marion, hit a deer at 6:40 a.m. March 1 with her 2019 Nissan Rogue, which sustained disabling damage to its front, hood, and passenger side.

K-15 north of 80th Rd.

Hitting a reflector the second time, Gage D. Anderson, 20, Newton, twice drove a 2006 Ford Fusion off the road to the left at 5:10 p.m. Feb. 28.

Damage to the car, owned by Melissa D. Baca of a different Newton address, was deemed minor.

Anderson’s passengers were 8-year-old Korbyn Schafter, 6-year-old Braydon Baca, and 4-year-old Brela Baca, all of Baca’s Newton address.

Deputy Aaron Christner blamed the accident on inattentive driving, but no tickets were issued.

K-15 south of 120th Rd.

On a slush-covered road at 1:56 a.m. Friday, Sherry A. Boese, 59, rural Goessel, slid her 2015 Chevrolet Equinox off the road to the right and into a utility pole.
