Donna Hanschu, 76, Marion, was taken by ambulance to Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, after an accident at 11:16 a.m. April 26 in which her 2018 Ford Ecosport, westbound on 190th, smashed into the side of a northbound 2017 Ford F-350 that had been crossing 190th after stopping on Nighthawk.

Deputy Steven Janzen’s report blamed the accident on failure to yield by pickup owner and driver Richard Engquist, 68, rural McPherson, who did not report injury. No tickets were issued.

Damage to the passenger side of Engquist’s pickup was termed minor. Hanschu’s sport utility vehicle sustained disabling damage to its front third and was towed.
