ACCIDENTS
REPORTED
These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:
SHERIFF
K-15 south of 140th Rd.
Ashlee S. Mathews, 39, Marion, hit a deer at 8:20 p.m. July 6 with her 2023 Chevrolet Blazer, which sustained disabling damage to its right front and undercarriage and was towed.
Indigo Rd. north of 100th Rd.
A mattress flew off a trailer being pulled by a pickup at 3:53 p.m. July 9 and became entangled in the drive shaft of another pickup.
Rear wheels of the second pickup, a 2011 Ford Ranger owned and driven by Zachary H. Stenzel, 22, Newton, locked, and the truck sustained damage to its front and undercarriage.
The first pickup, a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 owned and driven by Kevin D. Steinborn, 65, Newton, was not damaged, according to deputy Landis Goodman’s report, which did not list a suspected cause of the accident nor whether any tickets were issued.
K-15 south of 290th Rd.
Eric M. Brown, 41, Abilene, hit a deer at 9:30 p.m. Thursday with his 2018 Dodge Ram 2500, which remained drivable with damage along its left side.
