These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

Crossroads Credit Union, Goessel

Sixteen-year-old Ashley Schrag, rural Goessel, backed her 2012 Ford Expedition out of a parking space at 5:09 p.m. Aug. 1 and into the side of a westbound 2016 Toyota Prius owned and driven by Rosemary K. Reimer, 69, rural Goessel.

Kelly M. Schrag, 55, of the driver’s rural Goessel address, was a passenger in the Ford.

Both vehicles remained functional, the Ford with damage to its right rear and the Toyota with damage to its left doors.

Deputy Jesse Raney blamed the accident on improper backing, but no tickets were listed as being issued.

330th Rd. east of Eagle Rd.

Leslie S. Barlow, 72, rural Lost Springs, hit a deer at 7:01 p.m. Aug. 2 with his 2012 Buick Encore.

The car remained drivable with damage to its hood, right front, and right side.

Cindy S. Francis, 68, Emporia, and Marvin R. Barlow, 64, Burdick, were passengers.

US-56 west of Limestone Rd.

James R. Karhoff, 44, Milton, Iowa, hit a deer at 10:50 p.m. Aug. 2 with his 2016 Nissan Rogue.

The car sustained disabling damage to its front and hood and was towed.

Gloria Karhoff, 74, Lincolnville, was a passenger.

HILLSBORO

1st and Jefferson Sts.

Glenn D. Ewert, 71, rural Durham, was ticketed for failing to yield after he allegedly ignored a yield sign and drove a southbound 2011 Chevrolet Impala into an eastbound 2018 Subaru Forester.

The Ford, owned by Donald W. Ewert of the driver’s address, sustained damage characterized as minor to its right front bumper, according to Assistant Chief Randy Brazil’s report.

The Subaru, owned and driven by Shaylynn M. Spurlin, 24, Hillsboro, sustained damage characterized as more serious to its left front. It remained drivable, however.
