These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:
SHERIFF
K-15 south of 190th Rd.
Wyatt M. Pryor, 26, Abilene, hit a deer at 11:54 a.m. Nov. 25 with his Ford F-350 pickup, according to one of nine accident reports released Friday by the sheriff’s office.
Callie S. Hobkirk, 30, of the same address was a passenger.
The pickup remained drivable with damage to its front bumper, headlights, grill, and radiator.
US-77 four miles south of Florence
Braxton J. Rambo, 26, San Angelo, Texas, hit an owl at 10:17 pm. Nov. 26 with his 2024 Kia Sorento.
The owl was still stuck in the car’s grill when he stopped at Florence.
Passengers included Katlyn Rambo, 25; Payton Rambo, 4; and Mason Rambo, 1, all of the same address.
The car remained drivable with damage to its grill.
US-77 south of 140th Rd.
Hiep H. Nguyen, 55, McKinney, Texas, hit a deer at 2:27 a.m. Nov. 27 with a 2025 Ford Transit rented from Capps Rent-a-Car of Dallas.
The van sustained disabling damage to its front and was towed.
Passengers included Ha T. Ha, 53; Jacquelyn Nguyen, 23; Jason Nguyen, 17; Simon Nguyen, 25; and Julie Nguyen, 26, all of the same McKinney address along with Bong V. Nguyen, 72, of Garland, Texas; Jimmy Q. Pham 23, of Port Arthur, Texas; and Johan S. Kovoor, 26, of Frisco, Texas.
US-77 north of Wagon Wheel Rd.
Sawyer W. Borror, 33, Manhattan, hit a deer at 6:28 p.m. Nov. 27 with his 2023 Nissan Kicks.
Melanie D. Borror, 33, of the same address was a passenger.
Their car remained drivable with damage to its right headlight.
5th St. at US-77, Florence
Natasha N. Pendergrass, 47, and Lyraa E.D. Pendergrass, 6, of the same Florence address were taken to St. Luke Hospital, Marion, by Marion ambulance after their 2024 Ram 1500 and a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox collided at 11:40 a.m. Nov. 29.
Deputy Landis Goodman’s report blames the accident on Equinox driver Iva L. Britton, 76, Florence, pulling out from 5th St. and into the path of Pendergrass’ pickup.
The Equinox sustained disabling damage to its front half and was towed. The Ram remained drivable with damage to the same areas.
No tickets were listed as being issued.
230th Rd. west of Alamo Rd.
A 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 caught fire and was destroyed at 3:10 p.m. Nov. 30 after becoming stuck in mud.
The pickup was owned by Michael E. Morales, rural Hillsboro, and driven by 17-year-old Jace R. Morales of the same address.
120th Rd. east of Goldenrod Rd.
Jennifer Duran, 56, Newton, hit a cow in the roadway at 10:21 p.m. Nov. 30.
Her 2002 Toyota Sienna, owned by Royser Duran of the same address, remained drivable with damage to its front, right front, hood, and undercarriage.
The cow was owned by Kurt A. Harrell, rural Hillsboro.
Sunflower Rd. south of 140th Rd.
Clara M. Sprouls, 34, Marion, hit a deer at 5:37 p.m. Dec. 1 with her 2023 Nissan Pathfinder.
The Pathfinder, owned by Matthew A. Sprouls of the same address, remained drivable with damage to its left front.
140th and Eagle Rds.
Donald R. Reimer, 65, McPherson, fell asleep at 2:04 p.m. Dec. 2, failed to negotiate a turn, and overturned a 2007 International semi owned by Countryside Feed of Hillsboro.
The entire semi was damaged. It was towed. No tickets were listed as being issued.
HILLSBORO
Birch St. south of Grand Ave.
Christina J. Mark, 52, Hillsboro, backed a 2004 Toyota Avalon out of her driveway at 12:05 p.m. Dec. 2 and into a 2016 Jeep Compass legally parked across the street.
The Toyota, owned by Charity Mark of the same address, sustained damage characterized as minor to its right rear.
The Jeep, owned by Corey J. Maddux of Hillsboro, sustained damage listed as more serious to its driver’s side door, but the car remained drivable.
Assistant Chief Randy Brazil’s report blamed the accident on improper backing, but no tickets were listed as being issued.
D St. west of Prairie St.
A white Ford Explorer exiting the Pizza Hut parking lot failed to yield at 6 p.m. Wednesday, collided with an eastbound 1998 Toyota Camry, and then drove off.
The Toyota, owned and driven on a restricted license by 15-year-old Easton E.W. Babcock of rural Marion, sustained disabling damage to its right front and was towed.
The Explorer is suspected of having damage characterized as minor to its left front quarter.
Hillsboro Hometown Pharmacy

Eldon V. Wuthnow, 89, rural Hope, thought he had put his 2022 GMC Sierra in park at 4:50 p.m. Friday, but it began rolling backward and hit a 2017 Ford Fusion owned and driven by Elmer D. Mickey, 64, Hillsboro.
Velma Wuthnow and Lori Mickey were passengers in their respective vehicles.
The GMC sustained damage characterized as minor. The Ford sustained damage to its front grill.
Pizza Hut drive-thru
Edith J. Unruh, 83, Hillsboro, told police her foot slipped off the brake pedal of her 2012 Ford Fusion at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, and the front of her car hit a 2012 Chrysler Town and Country ahead of her in the drive-thru lane.
Unruh’s Ford sustained damage to its left front bumper and headlight. The Chrysler, driven by Zayne J. Haslett, 16, and owned by Jeffrey L. Haslett, both of the same Hillsboro address, was damaged on its right rear bumper.
MARION
1st and Main Sts.
James A. Schafer, 52, Marion, stopped at a stop sign on S. 1st St. at 10:58 a.m. Dec. 1, pulled out to turn east onto Main St., and clipped the rear of an eastbound car that was coming through the intersection.
Schafer’s 2008 Chevrolet Silverado sustained damage characterized as minor to its right front.
The other vehicle, a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox owned and driven by Lewis P. Orville, 52, Marion, sustained damage deemed more serious to its right rear but remained drivable.
Officer Kaylan Miles blamed the wreck on Schafer’s failing to yield and driving inattentively, but no tickets were listed as being issued.
