REPORTED

These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

120th Rd. east of Holly Rd.

Danielle M. Bartel, 40, rural Peabody, hit a deer at 8:35 p.m. April 21 with her 2015 Ford Expedition, according to one of six accident reports released Friday by the sheriff’s department.

Her sport-utility vehicle remained drivable with damage to its left front.

Pawnee Rd. north of 220th Rd.

A westbound 2002 Hyundai Sonata whose driver failed to yield collided at 4:41 p.m. April 24 with a southbound 2006 Jeep Liberty, injuring both drivers and a passenger even though all three declined to be taken to a hospital.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed.

The Hyundai, owned and driven by Nicholas W. Cunningham, 21, Marion, sustained damage to its front, windows, undercarriage, and passenger side.

The Jeep, owned by passenger Gregory A. Vogel, 68, rural Marion, and driven by Zan M. Fine, 36, of the same address, sustained damage to its entire front half and undercarriage.

No tickets were listed as being issued.

US-50 east of Alfalfa Rd.

Ella M. Mackey, 19, Florence, hit a deer at 7:06 a.m. April 27 with her 2012 Volkswagen Jetta.

Her Volkswagen sustained disabling damage to its front half and undercarriage and was towed.

US-77 at 120th Rd.

Reckless or careless driving and following too close are being blamed for a rear-ending wreck at 3:55 p.m. April 28.

A 2015 Chevrolet Malibu owned and driven by Noah E. Slater, 22, Florence, sustained disabling damage to its front and hood and was towed.

A 2015 Chevrolet Silverado owned by Joseph W. Hostetler and driven by Delaney A.G. Hostetler, 17, rural Marion, remained drivable with damage characterized as less serious to its right rear.

Although the damages reported and coded description of causes of the wreck indicate that the Malibu rear-ended the Silverado, the narrative in deputy Clayton Philpott’s report apparently incorrectly states that the Silverado rear-ended the Malibu.

No tickets were listed as being issued.

120th Rd. east of Chisholm Trail Rd.

Dena D. O’Dell, 56, rural Goessel, hit a deer at 6:18 a.m. April 29 with a 2020 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross.

The SUV, owned by Kim D. Schmidt of the same address, sustained damage characterized as minor to its left front.

Sunflower Rd. north of 120th Rd.

Mary J. Darnall, 24, Marion, hit a deer at 8:45 p.m. Thursday with a 2014 Ford Edge.

The SUV, owned by Ethan J.R. Darnall of the same address, remained drivable with damage to its front third.

Karson D. Cook, 16, Durham, hit a legally parked and unoccupied 2016 Ford Taurus while driving his 2017 Ford Expedition into the high school lot at 8 a.m. Thursday.

The collision was not reported until 2:10 a.m. Friday, according to a report filed by Hillsboro police.

The report noted no damage to the Expedition, owned by Travis D. Cook of the same Durham address. Damage was reported to the left rear fender of the Taurus, owned by Corey J. Maddux and driven by Preston D. D’Albini of the same Hillsboro address.

A hit-and-run driver hit a legally parked 2021 Chevrolet Silverado at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Damage to the left front of the pickup, owned by Jeremiah G. Zweifel of Lindsborg, was characterized as minor.
