REPORTED

These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

Limestone Rd. at 360th Rd.

An eastbound 2006 Chevrolet C-150 failed to yield and collided with a southbound 2015 Ford Edge at 10:19 a.m. May 22, according to an accident report by deputy Bruce Burke, one of five reports released Friday by the sheriff’s department.

Burke’s report blamed the wreck on inattentive driving, failure to yield, and disregard for traffic sign by Chevy driver Nathan G. Brunner, 36, Ramona.

The accident report lists no tickets as being issued, but court records indicate Brunner was ticketed for allegedly failing to yield.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damage, were propelled off the roadway, and were towed.

The undercarriage, windshield, and entire front third of Brunner’s Chevy were damaged.

The right rear, trunk, and undercarriage of the Ford, owned by Dale C. Smith and driven by Cynthia E. Smith, 63, both of the same Lebo address, were damaged.

Edith E. Bentz, 86, Emporia, was a passenger in the Smiths’ car.

US-56 east of Indigo Rd.

Robert L. Pearce, 68, Galva, hit a deer at 1:31 a.m. May 23 with his 2018 Chevrolet Silverado.

Russell R. Miller, 57, of a different Galva address was a passenger.

Pearce’s pickup remained drivable with damage to its left side.

East of 9th St. in Florence

Two people were rushed to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, after a Honda Pioneer side-by-side being driven too fast for conditions by an 18-year-old girl went airborne at 9:02 p.m. May 24, according to a report by deputy Peyton Heidebrecht.

Driver Jayden M. Evans of Strong City sustained disabling injury and was taken to Wesley.

According to Heidebrecht’s report, she lost control of the side-by-side. It left the road, hit fence posts, and rolled, ejecting 13-year-old Bentley Taylor of Cottonwood Falls, who had been riding in its bed. He was listed as injured but not taken to a hospital.

Front-seat passengers Angela Taylor, 47, of the same Cottonwood Falls address, and Jeffrey K. Cooper, 53, of a different Cottonwood Falls address, were listed as suffering disabling injuries, but only Cooper was listed as being taken to Wesley.

None of the occupants were using seat belts or other safety equipment, according to the report.

The side-by-side, owned by Mitchell R. Evans of the driver’s Strong City address, sustained only minor damage to its front and undercarriage.

No tickets were listed as being issued.

US-56/77 south of 360th Rd.

Three people were injured when a 2025 Ford Explorer hit a deer at 9:17 p.m. May 24.

Driver Richard D. Hill, 45, and passengers Jessica N. Hill, 42, and Savannah J. Hill, 17, all of the same Junction City address, reported injuries.

Deputy Peyton Heidebrecht’s report does not indicate whether any or all of them were taken to a hospital, but monitored radio transmissions seemed to indicate that at least one of them was taken to a hospital by a Dickinson County ambulance.

Tampa ambulance, Lincolnville and Herington first responders, and Lost Springs firefighters also were dispatched.

Hill’s Explorer sustained disabling damage to its windshield and right front and side and was towed.

Sunflower Rd. south of 180th Rd.

Barbara A. Creamer, 79, Marion, hit a deer at 11:20 p.m. May 27 with her 2026 Chevrolet Trax.

The car remained drivable with damage to its left front.
