The tanker began leaking 15 to 20 gallons per minute of diesel fuel. Hillsboro firefighters built an earthen dam to contain the spill. A hazardous materials unit from Herington also was called.
The driver of the stopped 2006 Buick Lucerne, Leanne F. Funk, 63, Hillsboro, was checked by ambulance attendants but suffered no apparent injury.
Her car, which she was attempting to turn south onto Orchard Dr., was struck on its right rear when the westbound semi rolled onto its left side.
