The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Fifth Street near Elm Street, Peabody

A parked vehicle, owned by the City of Peabody, was struck by another city vehicle on Fifth Street near Elm Street, Peabody, at 6 a.m. Aug. 28. Brian K. Whiteside, 54, 406 Peabody, Peabody, was driving a 2003 Ford truck and struck the left front bumper of a 2001 Ford passenger car parked near a driveway. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Duane McCarty reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

U.S.-56 near Eisenhower Drive, Marion

Jason D. Matz, 23, 601 S. Third, Marion, was westbound on U.S-56 near Eisenhower Drive, Marion, in a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse at 10:15 a.m. Sept. 1, when he swerved to avoid hitting two deer that were crossing the road. The vehicle went into a north ditch and struck a field entrance. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages, reported Marion County Undersheriff Randal Brazil.

U.S.-50 and Old Mill Road

Nathan T. Hoffman, 29, 612 Hudson, Marion, was westbound on U.S.-50 in a 2006 Ford F-250 pickup at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 2, when the vehicle struck a 2002 Oldsmobile passenger car driven by Danyel L. Kallansrud, 19, 206 N. Spruce, Peabody, when he was crossing the highway northbound at Old Mill Road. Undersheriff Brazil reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

U.S.-50 Highway near milemarker 298

Benjamin D. Johnson, 18, Wichita, was eastbound on U.S.-50 near milemarker 298 in a 2003 Ford F-250 at 10:56 a.m. Sept. 4, when his vehicle crossed the center line, side-swiping a 2008 Kenworth truck driven by Daniel T. Sargent, 52, Winnipeg, Canada, who stated he tried to pull off the road to avoid the collision but could not. The Ford was registered to Kan-Am Products of Wichita. Deborah J. Sargent, 54, of the same address as the driver, was a passenger in the semi. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Travis Wilson reported Johnson was injured but did not indicate whether he was transported to a hospital. There was more than $1,000 in damages.

Ash Street near Third Street, Hillsboro

Michele D. Hett, 47, 1212 Pawnee, Peabody, was northbound on Ash Street, Hillsboro, in a 2000 Nissan Frontier pickup at 5:14 p.m. Sept. 4, and Breanna L. Allen, 18, 1122 230th, Hillsboro, was southbound on Ash in a 2005 GMC Envoy SUV and turned left on Third Street in front of the pickup, causing the two vehicles to collide. The SUV was registered to Barry and Robin Allen of the same address. Passengers in the pickup were Cameron M. Kimbrough, 6, and Phoebe Hett, 9, both of the same address as the driver. Allen was injured and was transported by private vehicle to Hillsboro Community Medical Center, reported Hillsboro Police Officer Chad Funk.

Grand Avenue near Main Street, Hillsboro

Mildred E. Karnowski, 86, 402 S. Main, Hillsboro, was backing from a street parking stall in a 1998 Oldsmobile passenger car at 5:50 p.m. Aug. 4, when her vehicle struck a 1966 Dodge passenger car owned by Robert M. Williamson, 311 N. Washington, Hillsboro that was parked in a parking stall. The Oldsmobile was registered to Charlotte A. Takahashi Kennedy, PO Box 97, Hillsboro. Assistant Hillsboro Police Chief Jessey Hiebert reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.
