Accused teacher identified

A Centre teacher could end up charged with providing alcohol to a student during Marion’s Chingawassa Days in June.

Business instructor Amy Carlson, who resigned her position last week, is under investigation after a report to the sheriff’s office was referred to Marion police.

Marion Police Chief Aaron Slater said last week that Carlson admitted giving the student alcohol but not an entire serving of it.

A report was expected to be sent to County Attorney Michelle Brown last week, but Brown is on vacation.
