Staff writer

Advance voting ahead of the Nov. 7 election is under at the courthouse.

Voters must provide state-issued photo identification and their name and address at the county clerk’s office to receive a ballot for immediate voting.

Advance voting is available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through Nov. 3 and 8 a.m. to noon Nov. 6, the day before the election. Extended hours will be 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 5, the Sunday before the election.

Mail ballots also are available, but voters must apply for an advance mail ballot. Voters should allow time for ballots to be mailed when choosing this option. Mail ballots must be returned to a polling place before 7 p.m. on Election Day or postmarked by Nov. 7 and received by Nov. 10.

Voter registration has closed, but unregistered residents can still vote with a provisional ballot that may or may not be counted.

Sample ballots are available from the clerk’s office and the county website.

Election Day polling places include Burns Community Center, Florence Masonic Center, Goessel City Building, Hillsboro United Methodist Church, Lincolnville Community Center, Eastmoor United Methodist Church, Peabody United Methodist Church, and Tampa Senior Center.
