Ag leaders group meets in Florence

Graduates, current class members, and supporters of Kansas Agricultural and Rural Leadership program met Saturday at the Brandin’ Iron in Florence to celebrate the program’s successes and plan for the future.

KARL is a two-year program that was founded in 1989 to identify, prepare, and connect aspiring leaders in Kansas agriculture and rural communities.

Each class includes up to 30 people from across Kansas. This year’s class is the 16th.

KARL associates are connected with people and resources through multi-day seminars across the state; a national study tour to Washington, D.C. and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; and an international study tour.

Mark Harms, Bob Watson, Kevin Suderman, and Sarah Dawson are graduates from Marion County.
