Aggie Day includes vet science event

The South Central FFA District and Invitational Aggie Day competitions April 16 at Hutchinson Community College included a new career development event: veterinary science.

It involved a written information test, identification of veterinary tools, breeds of animals, diseases, and parasites, and a math and clinical practicum.

The Centre FFA team of Chad Mueller, Karl Riffel, Kyle Methvin, and Cassidy Hill placed eighth.

The Livestock Evaluation A-team of Jared Barney, Chad Mueller, Karl Riffel and Cassidy Hill placed sixth in the invitational and fourth in district. Barney placed fifth individually in district.

The Greenhand team of Kyle Riffel, Bryce Naerebout, and Adam Makovec placed 10th in the invitational and seventh in district.

Riffel placed eighth individually in district.

The Agriculture Mechanics A-team of Tom Oborny, Braden Pagenkopf, Justin Deines, and Brett Muhlig placed eighth in district and ninth in the invitational. B-team members were Tanner Peterson and Mark Vinduska.

Food Science team members were Kevin Lewis, Houston Svoboda, Ty Simons, and Timothy Vinduska.

Agricultural Sales team member Carrie Carlson placed 10th individually.

The other team members were Anna Weber and Nellie Kassebaum.
