Agronomy team wins silver
Centre FFA’s agronomy team brought home a silver medal last week from a national convention last week in Indianapolis.
Individually, Karsen Kroupa and Allie Stuchlik won gold ratings, and Payton Svitak and Emilee Remmers received silver ratings.
Stuchlik qualified to pursue becoming a certified crop advisor. She is eligible to seek an apprenticeship and receive her license.
At a career exposition, two Centre students assembled a hydroponics tower in 21 seconds to win a timed contest. They received a tower to bring back to Centre. Co-sponsor Emma Jacobson was excited about the prospects of growing vegetables in the tower.
Students received a tour of Indianapolis that included visits to a farm, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and a fishery. They also visited an escape room in downtown Indianapolis.
