Alvin Boese, 94, of Goessel, died May 1 at Parkside Homes, Hillsboro.

Born April 29, 1917, in Goessel, to Abraham L. and Maria (Schroeder) Boese, he was a dairy and grain farmer.

He was served on the Lehigh School Board and was a lifelong member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church.

On Sept. 9, 1946, he married Audrey Unruh at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, Goessel. She died March 20.

Three sisters, Matilda Duerksen, Linda Schmidt, and Elsie Schmidt also preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son, Alan of Lehigh; three daughters, Anita Boese and Aileen Esau of Hillsboro and Ama Reimer of Hutchinson; a brother, Ralph of Spokane, Wash.; a sister, Rosella Duerksen of Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Graveside services were Friday at Alexanderwohl Cemetery. A memorial service followed at the church.
