Ambulance service retirees honored
Two emergency medical services retirees were recognized Feb. 15 for years of service.
Volunteer James “Dick” Carr, was certified as an emergency medical technician in 1974. He responded with ambulance units and on first responder calls, generally out of Hillsboro, until his retirement in December.
Scott Zogelman became an EMT in 1995. Zogelman was a member of Florence EMS and a member of the county’s EMS service after the departments merged. When Florence became a first response unit of the county service, Zogelman was crew captain for Florence responders. He also retired at the end of 2022.
