Anita’s life began June 22, 1929, in Marion. She was the daughter of Jonah and Elma A. Siebert Seifert. She was a graduate of Marion High School and attended two summer sessions at Kansas State Teachers College for her teaching certificate.

She was united in marriage to Virgil Weber on May 12, 1949, at Strassburg Baptist Church near Marion.

Anita owned and operated Anita’s Beauty Salon for nearly 60 years in Marion. She also taught in the one-room Morningstar schoolhouse before she was married. After she and Virgil were married, she worked at the ASC office in Marion and for JCPenney department store, but her heart was really set on taking care of her clients at her salon and at St. Luke Living Center.

She was the last charter member of the Wednesday night bowling league at the Marion bowling alley now called Sher-Bowl Lanes and bowled her last league night a few weeks ago. Anita also sang with the Flinthills Women’s Barbershop Chorus for several years.

She was never idle and always had something to do. Her greatest joy was her family which includes her daughters, Kathy (and husband Jim) Thomas of Hutchinson, and Diane (and husband Gary) Bolton of Council Grove; son Ron (and wife Sharon) Weber of Hutchinson; grandchildren Chris (and wife, Sarah) Bolton of Manhattan, Cassie (and husband Matt) Rizzo of Center, Texas, Scott Weber of Dallas, Texas, and Hannah (and husband Corey) Harp of Salina; brother Dennis Seifert of Topeka and several nieces and nephews.
