Anna Smith

Anna Smith, 93, of Hillsboro, died Nov. 17 at Salem Home, Hillsboro.

Born Feb. 20, 1916, in Lehigh, to George and Hattie (Guhr) Martens, she was employed by Kansas Gas and Electric.

On Oct. 27, 1939, she married Lewis R. Smith in Lehigh. He died in 2007.

A daughter, Georgia Smith, also preceded her in death in 2006.

Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Swartzendruber of Dallas; a sister, Frieda Birkle of Hillsboro; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were Saturday morning at Lehigh Mennonite Cemetery, rural Lehigh, with the Rev. Charles Grant officiating. Burial followed the service.
