Nothing brings farmers and city folk together like the sizzle of a thick steak on a hot grill.

Marion Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring its annual farm-city appreciation banquet Monday, serving steaks from 6 to 7 p.m. at Marion Community Center.

Banquet co-chairman Roger Hannaford said it’s possible that this could be the final farm-city banquet, with the chamber’s impending closure, but is optimistic a group could carry it on independently.
