Bluestem Art Guild met Feb. 15 at Grand Central Hotel and Grill in Cottonwood Falls. Present were Betty Fetrow, Cher Heller Olson, Linda Shoults, Eleanor Phillips, Doris Gerstner, Marita Bolson, Madonna Schafers, Tillie Schafers, Sue Clough, Lydia Gates, Bennie Holtsclaw, Julie Warner, Denise Fetrow, and Jean Bolson.

Several members displayed current painting projects, including an oil painting of a barn at sunset by Shoults, a watercolor of a kitten by Betty Fetrow, a rocky stream and roads through a forest by Phillips, a colored pastel pencil of a bluebird by Clough, and a tree with moon in the background and a cactus, both by Warner.

Holtsclaw presented a slideshow of paintings by cowboy artist Tim Cox of New Mexico. Most were in oil, and all featured horses, cowboys, or the skies over New Mexico.

Shoults will be the host of the next meeting at her new studio in Alta Vista. Members will meet for a day of painting at 10 a.m. March 15.
