Barbara Tajchman

Barbara Jean Tajchman, 70, of McPherson, died Sept. 12 at her home.

Born July 15, 1940, in Marion, to the late Albert George and Rose Beatrice (Dvorak) Holub, she attended grade schools in Pilsen and Antelope, graduating in 1958 from Lincolnville High School. She attended Wichita Business College.

She worked as a secretary for Frontier Oil Company, Wichita.

On Sept. 16, 1961, she married Marcel Robert Tajchman at St. John’s Nepomucene Catholic Church, Pilsen.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, McPherson.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Marcel of the home; two sons, Brian of Junction City and Brad of Hoisington; a daughter, Michelle Lyle of Wichita; two brothers, Albert Holub of Culbertson, Neb., and Robert Holub of McPherson; a sister, Kathleen Holub-Drury of Jonestown, Texas; and 11 grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. tonight at St. Joseph Catholic Church, McPherson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 3 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, McPherson. Father David Lies will officiate.

Burial will follow in McPherson Cemetery.

Memorials have been established with the church, St. Joseph Catholic School, and McPherson County Food Bank in care of Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, 222 W Euclid St, McPherson KS 67460.
