Area teams struggled with wet fields in the Tuesday’s rain as some games had to move to drier fields. Yet the county’s teams still managed to pull off wins.

MARION: Victories close season at 12-8

Marion High baseball will finish its regular season 12-8 for the season after a victorious doubleheader in Whitewater against Remington.

The Warriors bested the Bronos 7-5 in game one and 12-11 in game two.

The team will host a regional tournament beginning at home next Monday. Seeding will be released tomorrow.

HILLSBORO: Wet weather forces games to move

Hillsboro High had to settle on an away game Tuesday as wet weather forced play to move to Hesston.

The Trojans split the difference with a 4-2 loss to the home team in the first game and a win 5-0 win in the second.

Hillsboro varsity totaled five hits in the first game. Matt Potucek and Phillip Young each swatted for the team.

The Trojans have an away game against Pratt on Friday.
