She took first-place in javelin with a throw of 122’6”. It was her second first-place finish for the week. She placed first at Goessel on the previous Tuesday with a throw of 123’3”.

“I am pleased that Kate has returned to a high level in the javelin,” coach Alan Stahlecker said. “While I was expecting it, it is good to see it come about.”

He said 11 teams, mostly 2A schools, participated.

“It wasn’t as tough as the Marion meet, but it was fairly tough,” he said. “I still felt we were competitive.”
