Beeson to leave after 2020-2021 school year

Centre board of education accepted a letter Monday from superintendent Susan Beeson stating that she will be resigning effective June 30, 2021.
Board member Anita Svoboda read the letter after a 30-minute executive session to discuss administration.
A short, 1½–hour-long meeting included the purchase of a new kitchen range for $6,595 and approval of out-of-district attendance for pre-schooler Easton Jones of Marion after the Christmas break.
The board approved a Christmas bonus of $120 for all staff.
