A benefit meal to assist Brian “Pete” Schultz of Herington with major medical expenses will be at 5 p.m. Monday in the Herington Community Building.
Schultz has been battling ulcerative colitis, thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, and a rare life-threatening disease that can damage vital organs, such as the kidneys, called atypical hemolytic-uremis syndrome.
Formerly, he worked in Abilene and Council Grove. Schultz also has children and grandchildren who live in Marion.
Donations will be accepted for the meal, which will be a hamburger fry with various toppings, sides, and dessert.
A silent auction of donated items is also planned.
