Berneda Moore
Berneda Leota Moore, 94, of Paola, died March 1.
Born March 12, 1915, north of Ramona, to G.H. “Hank” and Mary (Poe) Kleopfer, she graduated from Ramona High School in 1934.
She married Francis Harold Moore of Martinsville, Mo., in 1936 at Hope Christian Church in Hope. They later divorced.
They lived in Missouri before settling in Miami County in 1950.
Berneda operated an adult care facility for homeless women for more than 25 years.
She was a member of Fontana Church of Christ.
Infant twin granddaughters; a grandson; half brother, Harvey Kleopfer; half sisters, Eva Miller and Ruby Whited; brothers, Harold, Newton, and Milo Kleopfer; and sisters, Ramona Kleopfer and Winifred Engle preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Leroy and Bernard; two daughters, Sharon Grother and Nina Diediker; a brother, Donald Kleopfer; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
Services were Friday at Penwell-Gable Chapel, Paola.
Burial was at Paola Cemetery.
