Betty Jost

Jean Elisabeth “Betty” Jost, 94, of Austin, Texas, passed away on June 22, 2017.

She was born on Nov. 12, 1922, to the late Leonhard and Emelia (Schroeder) Bartel in Newton. She married the love of her life, Kenneth C. Jost, Sr., on Oct. 23, 1943. 

Betty will be mourned, remembered fondly, and loved beyond measure by her two children, Kenneth C. Jost, Jr. and his wife, Norma, and Carl E. Jost, as well as her two grandchildren, Daniel L. Jost and Michael R. Jost.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth C. Jost Sr., and son, David A. Jost.

An informal remembrance will be held at the Renaissance General Purpose Room (second floor), 11279 Taylor Draper Ln., Austin, Texas, on Saturday, July 8, 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Burial will follow in September at Haven of Rest Cemetery in Hillsboro.

The family is deeply grateful to Encompass Home Health, Capital Medical Clinic, Heart Hospital of Austin, and Renaissance-Austin Holiday Retirement for their devoted care.
