Troy and Eileen Schmidt announce the birth of a daughter, Ruby Iris Schmidt, Oct. 28 at Newton Medical Center.

She weighed 5 pounds, 11 ounces and was 19 inches long.

She was welcomed home by a brother, Noah Schmidt, 20 months old.

Clifford and Evelyn Hett of Peabody and Robert and Bonnie Schmidt of Marion are grandparents.

Great-grandmother is Lucilla Funk of Hillsboro.
