To the editor:
I would like to express my thanks to Our Savior Lutheran Church for providing sloppy Joes at the May 8 blood drive.
Donors haven’t been offered a meal for quite a while because of COVID, I’m assuming, but they brought it back, and I thank them.
When I donate, I’m usually a little light-headed and have had to wait until I drive home to get some protein. Usually offered is bottled water, juice boxes, and individual bags of cookies or such.
I was very much relieved when I saw them offering some protein in addition to the regular quick grab.
Also, the volunteers were very polite. Actually, all the sites in Marion have very helpful and courteous volunteers.
Thank you. Maybe we can start bringing back a sandwich or sloppy Joe?
It’s very much appreciated to those of us who need a little something after giving blood.
